More WOW veneer goodies

Howdy, it's Jo again.
Hoping everyone is enjoying the build up to Christmas Day??
Finished gift shopping or is the 'silly season' in full swing?

Sharing two layouts for you today.
First page has a photo of two of my creative besties, Kim Price and Lisa Oxley
which feature the 'freaking hot' piece of veneer (WV202) and the arrows from the Symbols pack (WV204)

Second page is a fun summer page featuring some veneer pieces from the Summer pack WV206. The sun and the sun glasses have been inked while the thongs (flip flops? havianas?) and the title have been left 'nude'.

Both pages are 8.5by11 and have been through the ebosser>
I like to think that it's a pimped up version of Tim Holtzs' vagabond.
It is electrical, so there is no 'cuttle bug arm' the day after you've been winding away :)
but it is waaaay better than the vagabond because the mats are full size - ie fits the full 8.5by11inch page.... now that is "fully sick" (as my 12yo would say :) )
The background of 'Freakin hot' page has been made with an embossing folder - yes an embossing folder that is 8.5by11inches!!! woohoo
The 'Hello Summer' page was made with a die cut from Taylored Expressions (?). The only frustration I had with the die cut, was that it had an edge to it that cut the sun burst out so I was left with a rectangular window in the page.
(I would have preferred to have the windows cut from the paper and then trimmed it.... but you know, I'm not a card maker and it is aimed at card makers, so I'll head to the kitchen to find my 'cup of concrete' hehehe)
Anyhoo easy fixed with some washi tape on the reverse side :)

Thanks for dropping in!

Delights Retreat 2014

A few layouts from the Delights 2014 Retreat... I know, I know that was weeks ago!!! lol

Anyhoo, just a few for now, the rest will be up on the Words or Whatever blog during the month.

I think this is my fav layout from the retreat  ♥

I created this layout with one of Sandra's challenge kits to demonstrate how I use colour theory, different elements of design and clustering of embellishments to complete a layout.
It came together really quickly and there were lots of "ooh's" & "I wish I could do that", but truth be told, I wasn't always this type of scrapper.
I figure it's a like a new pair of shoes - at first they don't really fit 100%, but you have to wear them... and walk in them... and experience them... and before you know it they are your favourite shoes in the wardrobe! :)

Terrible photo, but you get the gist ;)

This title is a veneer word title from Words or Whatever.
I've coloured it with black distress stains and some colorshine - I like how the droplets have pooled and dried in little circles to add more interest.

Last but not least the Delights retreat 2014 photo.
Yessss I scrapped it while I was there at retreat - that has got to be a first for me lol
I love how the retreats I go to here in NSW print the group photo for you on the same day. No waiting (sometimes weeks) to get it!

That's all for now.
See you again soon :)

Last Guest-designer post for Word or Whatever

For my last Guest designer post for Words or Whatever for May, I just wanted to say I've had SO much fun designing pages and inspiring you. Thank you to each and everyone of you who have left messages, I really appreciate it.
A very special thanks to Suzanne for having me on board and for allowing me to design the '♥ you' shape.

So, without further adieu, here are two layouts, mixing older designs with new ones from this months release :)

You can see here, the difference in applying an undercoat of white gesso. The 'Love' piece has the undercoat of white, then it was colour sprayed, whereas the 'savvy delights retreat 2013' just has the colour spray alone.

Here is the dark veneer XOXO.
I though it was perfect for a layout of my FIL's mother (grand mother inlaw lol)

Lots of scrapping this month.... yaaaay :)

This has to be one of two favourite layouts from the ScrapbookingFromScratch Lakeside retreat last month.
I'm not sure if it is the colours or the simplicity or the simple fact that I got to meet one of my all time scrappy/arty online legends/friends IRL (in real life)!!!!

I had such a blast sitting next to Giovanna. She has a wicked sense of humour (I guess you have to when you're a teacher :) ) and just as opinionated as I am!!! lol

"Gigi & Jojo"

Giovanna doesn't 'scrap' much anymore, but she is one creative and talented lady!!

My facebook status 'Stop the internet.... She scrapbooked!!!!! Well ok, she photo journaled
I had to hassle her for two days, but she did (and it's a photo of both of us - how special do I feel!!!????) #sfsretreat #honoured'

Her facebook status "Hold onto your panties, I scrapped, but it's not called that anymore. I call it Photo Journaling, okay?! — with Jo Kinder."
I feel very lucky!!!! ♥♥♥

"Hello Kindy Adventure"

Don't be afraid to cut into your chipboard or veneer shapes.
There are no rules stating they have to be used in the original form ;)

More WOW May release pieces

Some of my cousin's from Melbourne. I don't get to see them very often, so it kinda goes without saying that I had my camera in their faces for the entire visit.
Most of my camera-antics was taken in good humor, even when the conversation ventured to 'low-landers' and 'hill billy's'..... It's always a fun catch up when we do meet.
